How Can We Help?

Find answers to common questions about CycleHub

Getting Started

How do I create a cycling club on CycleHub?

Click "Create Your Club" on the homepage, then follow the 3-step onboarding process: (1) Enter club information, (2) Create your admin account, and (3) Customize branding. Your club will be live immediately with a subdomain like yourclub.cyclehub.app.

Is CycleHub really free?

Yes! Clubs with up to 1,000 members are completely free with full access to all features. No credit card required to start. As you grow beyond 1,000 members, affordable paid plans are available.

Can I try CycleHub before committing?

Absolutely. Create your club for free and explore all features. There's no trial period because the free plan has no expiration. You only need to upgrade if you exceed 1,000 members.

How do members join my club?

Members can discover your club on the main CycleHub discovery page or visit your club's direct URL. They can join for free using email/password or by connecting their Strava account.

Routes & Rides

What file formats are supported for routes?

CycleHub supports GPX files, which can be exported from Strava, Komoot, RideWithGPS, Garmin, and most GPS cycling computers.

How does the level matching system work?

When users connect their Strava account, we analyze their segment efforts on routes to recommend appropriate difficulty levels. This helps match riders with rides that suit their fitness level.

Can members suggest rides?

Yes! Members can suggest rides if their membership tier allows it. Admins review and approve member-suggested rides before they're published.

What happens when a ride is full?

When maximum participants is reached, additional signups are added to a waitlist. If someone cancels, waitlisted members are automatically notified.

Can I make routes private?

Yes. When creating a route, you can toggle whether it's publicly visible or members-only.

Memberships & Subscriptions

What's the difference between club subscriptions and member subscriptions?

Club subscriptions are paid by club admins and determine member limits and features. Member subscriptions are optional tiers within your club (like Free, Silver, Gold) that you define with custom benefits.

How do I create membership tiers for my club?

As an admin, go to Club Settings → Membership Tiers. Create tiers with custom pricing and benefits like ride access, shop discounts, and priority RSVP.

Do I keep the revenue from member subscriptions?

Yes! Member subscription revenue goes directly to your club via Stripe Connect, minus standard Stripe processing fees (~2.9% + 30¢).

Can I offer free memberships?

Absolutely. You can have a "Free" tier alongside paid tiers, allowing everyone to join while offering premium benefits to paying members.

What happens if my club exceeds the member limit?

Members can still join and access the club. However, admins will be prompted to upgrade before creating new routes or products. We never block member access.

Shop & E-Commerce

How do I sell merchandise?

Go to Manage → Products and add items with photos, descriptions, pricing, and inventory. Members can purchase directly through your club's shop page.

What payment methods are accepted?

All major credit cards, debit cards, and digital wallets via Stripe.

How do member discounts work?

When you configure membership tiers, you can set a shop discount percentage. Members at that tier automatically receive the discount at checkout.

How do I fulfill orders?

Orders appear in your admin dashboard with customer details and shipping information. You handle fulfillment directly and can update order status as you ship items.

Can I create product variants?

Yes. Add variants like sizes (S, M, L, XL) or colors when creating products.

Integrations

How does Strava integration work?

Members connect their Strava account via OAuth. We fetch their segment efforts to provide intelligent level matching for rides. We never post to Strava without permission.

What data do you access from Strava?

We access athlete profile information and segment effort data for routes in your club. All data is cached and refreshed periodically.

Can I disconnect Strava?

Yes. Go to Account Settings → Profile and click "Disconnect Strava". This will remove your performance data.

Do I need a Stripe account?

To accept payments (member subscriptions or shop), you'll need to connect a Stripe account. For free clubs with no shop, Stripe is optional.

Billing & Payments

When am I charged for my club subscription?

Club subscriptions are billed monthly or annually depending on your choice. You're only charged if you upgrade from the free plan.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, anytime. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Your club will downgrade to the free plan.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

All your club data remains intact. If you downgrade to free and exceed 1,000 members, you can't create new routes/products until you upgrade again.

Do you offer refunds?

We don't provide refunds for partial billing periods, but you can cancel anytime to prevent future charges.

Are there discounts for annual billing?

Yes! Annual plans save 20% compared to monthly billing.

Do you offer non-profit discounts?

Yes! Contact sales@cyclehub.app with proof of non-profit status for special pricing.

Technical & Security

Is my data secure?

Yes. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/HTTPS), secure password hashing, and follow GDPR/CCPA compliance standards.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Go to Account Settings → Privacy & Security to request a data export in JSON format.

What happens to my data if I delete my account?

Personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Some data may be retained for legal/accounting purposes as outlined in our Privacy Policy.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes! Professional and Enterprise plans include custom domain support. Contact us for setup assistance.

Is CycleHub a PWA?

Yes! CycleHub works offline and can be installed on mobile devices for an app-like experience.
